two years a madre

As I sat down to write this post I was compelled to write it in short form, kind of like a poem or small thoughts. I knew I didn’t want to write too much or go to deep. And I knew I wanted to honor the fact that I had always imagined myself a mom to a two year old boy and today I am.

Here I am. Where I knew I wanted to be. A mama to a two year old boy.

Here you are. Wherever you want to be. A boy with a crusty nose and unkempt nails on his fingers and toes.

There I was. When you were born, not sure who this birth would make me become. But looking forward to life with you at the age of two.

There you were. When your arrival surprised us and you came before due. Tiny, squeaky and new.

Here we are. Where you sing, count, whine and yell. A two year old boy forever. Continue reading “two years a madre”

21* things at 21 months

Mo is practically 22 months old. Technically he hits 22 months this weekend but it has been a while since I properly updated on life as a madre so here we go. *Full disclosure: I started this post almost two weeks ago but realized quickly that it was going to be quite lengthy. So breaking up into a three parter.

loves from the zara sale

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 5.50.42 PM

My cousin tipped me off this morning to a SALE over on ZARA’s website. Initially I didn’t think I had time nor did I even want to have a peek at the selection, for fear of falling in love. But here I am, at the Mini dealership waiting for my car to finish being serviced, with idle time and wifi. Continue reading “loves from the zara sale”

Guest Post: Nursery Tour

Screen Shot 2016-02-21 at 9.49.44 PM

Today my friend Natasha is sharing some photos of the minimalistic nursery where she will very soon (like any day now) be welcoming her little boy. Natasha and her husband Alex recently moved back to Portland from San Francisco where they now live in the middle of the Pearl District. Continue reading “Guest Post: Nursery Tour”

Babyfood

A few months back we were on the Plated kick. I loved the service but travel and busy schedules got in the way of us being able to take advantage of the preparedness. Cut to life the past few weeks. Dinner has been far from home cooking and if it is, it’s not made by us or even eaten at our dining room table. Continue reading “Babyfood”

Addiction

I think I am an addict. Well, addict might be too strong a word. You see, I get these emails, on the daily, from The Gap. Always promoting some kind of sale- usually at 40% off which is always a great deal, especially when used on already reduced items. So in short, I find myself on gap.com way too often. It might just be the fun of having someone new to shop for. Someone who doesn’t yet have an opinion about how they dress or accessorize. But I know the screamin’ deals that hit my inbox each morning are also to blame. I have been shopping up a storm for my little guy starting in December before he even arrived and since then there has been a steady stream of packages arriving at our doorstep. I have even stocked up on some winter necessities for when Mo is bigger next year since the prices were so great!

baby boy favorites from the GAP

I singled out the above favorites that I bought most recently all either on sale or original price but with an additional 40% off.

GRAPHIC TEE: It is very sweet and simple and only cost me $7.77

CLOUD SWEATSHIRT: I have been eyeing this one since before Mo was born. I love a classic crew sweatshirt, they are so perfect for boys and men. Plus I think the cloud design makes it so, so sweet! It came in at $16.17

DINO PJS: These I bought in size 6-12 months. They are so perfect for a little boy and I love the simple gray and black colors. With discount these came in at $16.17.

Isn’t that little boy so adorable! His stance, face and hair are all too much!
