summer style at 13 weeks

unnamed

Sad to say that summer is coming to a close, but have to share the look that got me through summer this year. Seen above is the outfit I wore for the annual 4th of July festivities in my parents neighborhood. July 4th was also the day that we chose to announce our news to the family- the American Apparel onesie was our vehicle of choice.

The shorts are wait for it… Actually maternity, I know I am breaking my own rules on only my second post! These were my first maternity purchase. They are TOPSHOP Maternity from Nordstrom. These have truly been a staple in my wardrobe all summer. Like all of the TOPSHOP maternity items these shorts are stylish, on trend and good quality for the price. They are very comfortable and feature the side panels- my preferred choice for maternity bottoms- which stretch and grow as your body does but also still have the styling and features of regular pants: button and fly. I find the belly bands to be really uncomfortable and claustrophobic.

My top is from American Apparel (future post to come about more AA finds). It’s a little cropped & oversize and was perfect for the weeks there where I was not yet ready to share my news. Also appropriately patriotic yet chic.
